Uncle Shannon, Jelly Beans, and Airplanes landing

24 Oct

Wow, it has been quite a week. A wonderful whirlwind of activity.  Shannon and Jamie arriving, visiting, outings, catching up, sleepovers, treats, picking up Grammy at the airport, and a get away to Las Vegas with Shannon, Jamie and Travis while George had fun at home with Grammy.

George has been on cloud nine not only getting lots of love and attention, but also because often when there is family visiting that means there are special ‘candy treats’ tucked away in a suitcase and ready to be shared.  “Uncle” Shannon (as G calls her) loaded up her suitcase with about 4 lbs of ‘Dare’ Jelly Beans and Ju Jubes that one just cannot find in the U. S. of A.  George was happy. I was happy.

What I love about having family visit is just having them part of our daily life.

Watching some Thomas the Train together…

Baking together in the kitchen…

and just hanging out…

Such a great time with Shannon and Jamie and feeling a wee bit melancholy that their annual visit has come to an end.  It’s always such a great trip to look forward to and we had such a blast with them in Vegas (I’ll have to post those pics later). As they fly home now to Canada I know they are ready to see James and Jordyn and get back into their daily routine.  Thanks for a great time sis!

So after a weekend in a city full of over-stimulation of lights, noise, non-stop action and a 4 1/2 hour car ride home it was such a treat to come home to a clean house, fresh flowers from the market,  homemade soup ready for dinner, a warm gluten free cake and cookies and lots of activities around the house that George and Grammy did over the weekend…thanks Grammy! A wonderful weekend for everyone!
